Our story

The story behind the name “Indio”

Indio Surf School is a tribute to Paul's father, a beloved 72-year-old craftsman and artist from Playa Sámara, known for welcoming locals and travelers with coffee, bread, fruit and his fascinating stories. His home, decorated with shells, reflects his love for the sea.

In his honor, Paul named the school “Indio.” The logo, designed by national artist Erick Araya, captures his father's spirit. Paul has dreamed of running a surf school since childhood, and today shares that passion with every student who joins us.
